That’s why they gravitate toward you. They may be total strangers, yet squirrels will come up to you and eat from your hand. In the park, squirrels may climb all over your body even though you’re a stranger. That’s who you are, and you need to embrace it.

Yes, they may shower their pets with love, but who knows what happens behind closed doors? I can tell you what happens—there’s a lot of abandonment and neglect. These poor animals experience cognitive dissonance because their narcissistic owner loves them sporadically. Most of the time, they are horrible and neglectful, giving attention only when they want something in return.
In public, the narcissist has to put on a show, and that’s when the pet receives affection and gets excited. That’s what you see, which may lead you to believe they are good pet owners, but they’re not.
