Gaslighting – They say things to make you feel like you’re crazy. For example, I had a friend whose grandmother, after a car accident that was clearly her fault, tried to make the other person feel responsible. While this might be a humorous example, narcissists regularly gaslight others, manipulating the truth.
Lack of interest in others – Narcissists aren’t just uninterested in you; they’re uninterested in anyone else. Their world revolves around themselves, and everyone else is an afterthought.
Inability to accept criticism – Even the slightest criticism or perceived slight can set them off. They take things personally, even when there’s no reason to, like if they didn’t get as many French fries as someone else at a restaurant.
