Another sign is a lack of empathy. This isn’t always obvious initially, but over time, it becomes clear that the person doesn’t care about how their actions affect others. For narcissists, relationships remain surface-level and unfulfilling, lacking depth and growth.
The need for constant admiration also becomes evident. Narcissists frequently demand attention, validation, and emotional support from those around them but rarely reciprocate, which is exhausting for everyone involved. This dynamic often leads to them being described as “energy vampires.”
Their manipulative behavior is another major red flag. Narcissists may use guilt, fear, or flattery to control others, as they have observed and learned to exploit their target’s body language and expressions. This manipulation becomes more apparent over time, as narcissists lack empathy and respect, so they resort to tactics to keep you stuck.
Entitlement is another key trait, where narcissists feel they deserve special treatment without offering the same in return. This sense of entitlement can lead to resentment when they don’t get what they want, ultimately exposing their true nature.
