Updated on:

Although narcissists may never admit it, they do harbor regrets they can’t fully escape—especially a pervasive sadness and disappointment that increases with age. Narcissists are often miserable, and this misery stems from a lifetime of unmet satisfaction with others and themselves. Being a narcissist comes with its own burden, and one of their biggest afflictions is perpetual discontent.

In the end, many narcissists leave this life unfulfilled, unhappy, and fearful. They may regret not achieving the control they desired, but they don’t regret the harm they caused.
