Such individuals understand and respect their personal limits, making it impossible for narcissists to infiltrate their lives. Narcissists rely on manipulation to gradually influence others, but if they fail to breach someone’s boundaries, they’re met with rejection—something they loathe. People who stand firm in their beliefs and refuse to yield to a narcissist’s demands are often met with anger, as the narcissist feels their sense of entitlement has been violated.
